Last night’s Hablitzia tamnoides (Caucasian spinach / stjernemelde) and Allium paradoxum pesto was of course delicious with golpar (Heracleum spice), garlic, chili, sunflower seeds, parmesan, salt and pepper.
I noticed this great tit (kjøttmeis) vigorously hacking at a hogweed (
Heracleum ) stem in the garden, presumably looking for dinner…the picture shows the result
My friend Misoni Sandvik who figures in the

The change from winter to spring abundance happens very quickly…here’s last nights haul for a very green pasta sauce (it took about 30 mins from garden to table, fast slow food), including the following stars of spring:

This is a vigorous Angelica that I received as Angelica atropurpurea, but I’m not sure that is the right ID. Whatever, I sometimes use it ground as a spice in cooking!
