Walled garden gardeners meet at Croome

What a great weekend it was hobnobbing with walled garden owners and their gardeners from across the UK and with a disproportionate number from my home territory in Hampshire, including chairwoman Susan Campbell and husband Mike from near Lymington! My favourite walled Kitchen Garden at Knightshayes Court in Devon was represented as was Highgrove, and my usual comment that Charles has the biggest Forest Garden in the UK (in a national collection of large-leaved Hostas) lead to a signed copy of my book being sent to the Prince by way of one of his gardeners! But central during the whole weekend was the backdrop of Croome and its amazing walled garden and the tremendous efforts of the Cronins in its restoration over many years! More about this can be read here: http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/whats-on/30-amazing-pictures-croome-court-8757313
