The first into flower in the garden (after Hazel), winter aconite / vinterblom – NOT edible
A lot of Alliums like this Allium victorialis have been growing steadily in the mild winter conditions and not affected by -5C at present. This accession came from Reykjavik, originally from a botanical garden in Sakhalin!
With not much snow and icy conditions, it was a long (careful) trip up to Skarpåsen this afternoon, walking down the steepest hills…don’t want any broken bones…
Best to walk down this, very hard and little snow left
The highest point at 290m
Good conditions for skiing off-track
A bit of botanising on the top, this is seed heads of Narthecium ossifragum, Bog asphodel (called Rome in Norwegian)
Skiing over Dwarf Birch / Dvergbjørk (Betula nana)
Perennial vegetables, Edimentals (plants that are edible and ornamental) and other goings on in The Edible Garden
