Edulis nursery

On 24th September 2010, I visited Paul Barney’s Edulis nursery,  located in a Victorian walled garden in the Thames Valley near Pangbourne, England. Paul was inspired by Bill Mollison and permaculture in the 1980s and worked as a volunteer at the Centre for Alternative Technology. He has travelled widely hunting down unusual edimentals and other plants, a real modern day plant explorer! In my short visit which was rather late in the year, I found a large selection of unusual edible plants, many I hadn’t seen before.

See the pictures here:  http://www.edimentals.com/pictures/index.php?/category/75

Paul is also a survivor of the Estonia ferry disaster in 1994 and his dramatic story can be found on various web sites.

The address is Edulis Nursery, The Walled Garden, Tidmarsh Lane, Pangbourne, and his web site at http://www.edulis.co.uk
