Narcotits?

There are hundreds of opium poppy seed heads in my garden (no, it’s not illegal to grow this beautiful plant). In the mid-2000s I first noticed Blue and Great Tits hacking open the seed pods and devouring the seeds. In fact they were so quick that I started having problems find any intact pods (I save the seed to put on bread etc and also to swop seed). Today  Blue Tits / Blåmeis (Cyanistes caeruleus) were busy on the balcony and I also saw them eating cress seed for the first time! I have wondered if the small amounts of opiates in opium poppies is sufficient to make the small blue tit addicted? :)
