“Around the world in 80 plants” plant names in other languages

I’m often asked if I have a list of the plants in my book “Around the world in 80 plants” in other languages. By popular demand, the Excel document below is basically the Plant Table presented in Appendix 1 of the book, extended with English, Norwegian, Danish and Swedish popular names. There’s also a new column indicating where in the world each plant is used.

  1. I received your book “Around the world in 80 plants”. It exceeded my expectations (which were fairly high)!

I did notice what appears to be a small typo of one of your Romanization of your sannamul: Pimpinella brachycarpa. You spelled it “ch’mnamul”. I admit to being a bit inexperienced with Korean, so I could be wrong. But I think the proper Romanization is “ch’anamul” or “ch’amnamul”.

You may also find it interesting, I was able to procure seeds of this plant from Amazon.

P.S. I can’t find contact info, I have some more questions.

    1. Thanks :)

Yes, I’m sure you’re right re-spelling which came from the paper by Pemberton and Lee in the references…I’ve noted to double check in a future revision!
Thanks also for the link to the seed, now ordered…I did have seed a couple of years ago but they didn’t germinate!

Contact info on page vi of the book :)

      S.
