I noticed these greenfinches / grønnfink in the garden on Jack-go-to-bed-by-noon / geitskjegg (Tragopogon pratensis) eating the seed!

The bathing season is upon us!
With air temperature forecast to rise above 20C, I noticed this beauty having a bath from the cycle path…
Spring choir including Icterine Warbler
On the way to work this morning my first singing Icterine warbler / gulsanger of 2016 at Leangenbukta. The warbler is heard at the beginning with a chaffinch/ bokfink and is then swamped by a singing redwing / rødvingetrost with a willow warbler/løvsanger and blackcap /munk in the mix too.
Starling meeting
A group of starlings / stær were having a meeting in a spruce tree this evening….probably discussing the filthy accommodation I have on offer… :(
Mute swans in the bay
A new species for me here! I noticed a pair of mute swans / knoppsvaner hanging out in the bay this afternoon. Young birds? No orange bill…
Later, they disappeared behind Malvikodden, the peninsular on the other side of the bay. Then, suddenly this evening they flew back westwards right past my window. I swear one of them winked at me ;)
This is the second observation of this species in my kommune Malvik, the first only 6 days ago of a single bird with a group of Whooper Swans / sangsvane. Mute swans are moving north in Norway.
Sparrowhawk
There was a commotion in the garden with the house sparrows making a racket…this was the culprit, a splendid male 
! He flew off a few moments later without a catch…
Yellowhammer flock
A flock of 25 yellowhammers / gulspurv in the garden today :)
House heron
Grey Heron (gråhegre) resting on the house in the bay, below my house!
Woodpigeons
Not that common a sight to see woodpigeons in the garden, here at the top of a cone-laden Norwegian spruce.
