Still a week before the sun returns here in Malvik and we leave the tunnel…today’s 20 variety salad harvested today from the living room and cellar!
Carrots, chicories, beetroot, tomato, apples, False watercress (Apium nodiflorum), Physalis, sweet potato shoots, wild buckwheat shoots, various kales, ocas, turnip, parsley….
Uhm looks delicious, but tomatoes in January … how is that possible ??
The tomatoes were the last of those that I’d harvested on my indoor plants (pot grown) about two months ago…they’d been just stored in the kitchen since then… :)
Nice salad! I must say it is very inspiring to read about your year-round edimentals; there seems always to be something to harvest in Malvik! Good to hear that some of it is indeed stored
But here I too, can boast about tomatoes. I still have a few small tomatoes from various sorts stored in the kitchen windowsill. I find that the smaller types as a rule keep very well and I try to select the keepers. Inspiration from Malvik :D
