Accompanied by\u00a0Au\u00f0ur Ingibj\u00f6rg Ottesen and Hildur Arna Gunnarsd\u00f3ttir I visited the\u00a0Herbal Garden of Nes just outside of Reykjavik in \u00a0Seltjarnarnesb\u00e6r. \u00a0The garden\u00a0\u00a0was founded in 2010 in memory of three men who were pioneers in Icelandic health care and horticultural history (the first medical director and the first pharmacist) and the founder of the Icelandic Horticultural Society who also was a medical director of Iceland at a later date.\u00a0One can see\u00a0a living \u00a0exhibition here of plants\u00a0that are believed to have been\u00a0grown at Nes in 1760-1834. In addition, a number of \u00a0plants believed to have been grown at a much earlier data in Iceland&#8217;s\u00a0monastic gardens are shown.
