{"id":33963,"date":"2025-09-30T15:11:54","date_gmt":"2025-09-30T13:11:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.edimentals.com\/blog\/?p=33963"},"modified":"2025-09-30T15:11:55","modified_gmt":"2025-09-30T13:11:55","slug":"clematis-serratifolia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.edimentals.com\/blog\/?p=33963","title":{"rendered":"Clematis serratifolia"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Young shoots of Korean clematis (<em>Clematis serratifolia<\/em>) are reportedly occasionally eaten cooked in the Far East, akin to the commonly eaten shoots of old man&#8217;s beard \/ tysk klematis (<em>Clematis vitalba)<\/em> in Italy. Until last year both were growing next to one another on the eastern side of my house (<em>vitalba<\/em> died during the\u00a0 winter, now seed propagated and replanted). I&#8217;ve never eaten serratifolia as I hadn&#8217;t read firsthand accounts of its use. It&#8217;s an impressive and valuable plant growing with its roots at the base of the cellar reaching fully 3 stories to the upper balcony\u00a0 outside my bedroom and will eventually clamber onto the roof! It&#8217;s autumn flowering and is currently covered in hoverflies, droneflies and bumblebees.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 790px;\" class=\"wp-video\"><video class=\"wp-video-shortcode\"
