On my visit to Iceland in early September, we visited Sk\u00e1lholt (see), one of the most important places in Iceland \u00a0from 1056 until 1785 (a bishopric was founded here in 1056) . During the Middle Ages, growing of medicinal plants was important at places like this and a herb garden\u00a0has been established here, the purpose of our visit.<\/p>\n<p>Per Arvid \u00c5sen has searched for relic plants all over Iceland including\u00a0Sk\u00e1lholt.
