The sun is now rising close to due East having swung round day for day from close
to north over a few short weeks…the sunrise is now rushing towards south….

Sunrise wake-up
8th September and I woke to the sun’s rays shining into my bedroom (the door to the balcony was open) and another spectacular sun-rise it was. Sun-rise will within a few days be directly over the tip of Malvikodden and that’s a turning point in my world towards autumn!

Sunrise on 22nd July
Sunrise at 04:18 this morning, 22nd July! It’s now a month away from the solstice! The temperature was 18-19C. Yesterday, a few places recorded over 30C yesterday in this area!

Sunset on the shore: 4th July 2016
On my garden help Daina Binde from Latvia’s last evening in Malvik, we went down to the shoreline to look at edible beach plants and to watch the sunset. The sun went down just after 11pm. Here are 5 short videos from the beach :) Enjoy!
Stunning 11pm double rainbow
For the second night running a rainbow developed at about 10:40 and this time developed into one of the best displays I’ve seen, lasting almost 30 minutes when the sun went down…continually changing from a weak single bow that seemed to split at the top….developing into a full bow which landed in a spruce tree in the garden…and gradually fading as the sun set :)
