Bi-coloured fjord
The fjord was looking greeny blue all day in the sun, perhaps coloured by an algal bloom, then the wind picked up and a front moved across the fjord with cloud giving this amazing view of a two coloured fjord…closest to us in shade! The temperature plummeted from around 23C to 13C in short time.

The S returns
It’s a good sign when the “S” is visible on the fjord :)
Dawn on 20th May 2018
Woken at 4:15 by a newly arrived garden warbler (hagesanger) (or is it just a blackcap?) singing at full throttle in the garden (sorry about the focus, I was half asleep and didn’t notice!). A few minutes later the sun rose as fishermen motored out onto the still fjord.

Sunrise 16th May
The temperature plummeted this morning as a cold front moved in, replacing the unseasonally warm summer weather. But, before it arrived there was a gorgeous summer sunrise at 04:30.
In the video below a pied flycatcher (svarthvit fluesnapper) can be heard singing.
Record warm spring
We’re enjoying record warm days for the first half of May….today is the 5th day above 20C…. enjoying an early breakfast in the garden …..and I can hear new arrivals whitethroat (tornsanger) and lesser whitethroat (møller) singing…
